As I said, the whole sun releases continent level power each second[. How could something that is just a very small fraction of its size have comparable (continent level) power when heated to the same temperature?

> That’s the difference. No one said Yama can destroy a continent in a second, it’ll take a few minutes to achieve equilibrium if the area is continent sized.

Thatís the difference. No one said Yama can destroy a continent in a second, itíll take a few minutes to achieve equilibrium if the area is continent sized.

And on what basis are you saying this? There’s no way to know, without involving complex thermodynamics calculations.

We can say this based on the amount of time normal objects take at achieve equilibrium.

How long does it take a hot rod of 1kg weight at 100 oC to cool to room temperature? Definitely not 1 second.

Actually I was referring to the continent level part.

Infact that’ll take even more time since the heat needs to spread over a much larger area.

Its outright ridiculous to think a continent wide AoE will achieve equilibrium in seconds.

ShredGuitarManiac actually makes a lot of sense, I totally get what you’re saying, I haven’t looked at it in that way before. If you compare Yama to the world he is extremely small, even compare to a continent, so even if he reaches degrees of the sun he still wouldn’t be continent level.

If an ant in a house reached the heat of the sun does that mean the whole house will turn to ash? Nope it wouldn’t, in fact it will only give off enough heat comparable to that of a small heater.

page 24 post #463 and the nuke issue was also discussed later on that gallvant brought up and the issues legendary dark knight is bringing up right now. Yama being continent+ is a low end right now.

The difference is that Yama can [b]even maintain[/]b his body temperature at that level.

If an ant can remain at that temperature for minutes, it’ll cause much more damage

Well I haven;t found it yet but I did come across this from guide book 1:

OS far gotei 13, 0 squad members have been revealed we know that Tessai used to be the kidoh corps leader, and soifon is the current leader of the secret mobile unit but hte 5 squads underneath it have not been revealed but I will assume squad 1 of the mobile corps is soi fon. And ofc the central 46 how the hell do they possess so much power in the first place? Politically speaking.

do you even have any idea how big the sun is? continent every second? lol

Feel free to not believe me. Just google it.

According to wikipedia, the sun has an energy output/second of 3.8×10^26 J, which is roughly 90.8 petatons, which is pretty much the energy needed to destroy a mid sized continent.

The Sun... 90 petatons... Continent level?
You guys are not making any sense at all.

The energy the sun releases every second is not continent level nor anything near that level. continent level is not even close to the energy the sun outputs.

It only takes 1 petaton to lifewipe the entire planet earth, 90 petatons a second is overkill for any continent or planet. I don’t know who convinced you otherwise. The sun is big enough to fit 1,000,000 earths inside of it and the energy it produces is just as massive.

-Point: The sun’s energy and potential destructive capability is far over continent level; It’s more like Multi-Planet+++. The sun is also 93 million miles away from Earth, which you guys fail to mention. The sun’s energy having to travel that much distance + the Earth’s natural layers of atmospheric shielding, gives us that nice summer day that we enjoy everyday but if we were any closer the entire planet would be toast. If we were much much closer than the entire planet would be vaporized within seconds.

So the tip of a pinhead, being as hot as the sun, able to life wipe a continent is not hard to believe nor is it inconsistent in anyway. Yamamoto stated that his bankai will lifewipe the entire World, not just one continent, which is also consistent since Yama is as hot as the sun’s core and has far more mass than a continent level head of a pin, considering what it is capable of.

Considering all the facts I don’t see any problem with Yamamoto being continent level at minimum, though I feel its downplaying. At maximum, he should be exactly what the manga stated he could do... Life Wipe the Planet.

Cero’s are just energy beams. They aren’t light beams. If you want a light beam looks at Negacion.

@manga-z: That’s why DSA & Tornado were saying Yama is continent+ at the least.

Using basic scaling, how strong would Starrk’s normal Cero be?

You’d have to powerscale from the average Gillian.

The jump in power from a Guillian would be exaggerated. But I was wondering how strong is Starrk to be able to casually fire a thousand at the same time, and how capable is Ukitake to be able to absorb and shoot those back.

I think I’ve seen the scan but don’t know where to find it. But still Yama addressed it as a “light”

An average Gillian is the size of a small apartment building so should have brick+ durability. A gillian isn’t so fast in movement but its Cero’s can reach superhuman speeds greater than 10 m/s by quite a bit. Hard to say will have to have someone look into it.
