Wait, what?

How the fuck is Vampire Diaries like Twilight, but not True Blood? They all deal with the same friggin' issues: they all feature a token human girl/vampire boy relationship, they’ve all got tensions between supernaturals (inter, intra, and outer [humans]), they’re all rather dark etc. The only difference is, Vampire Diaries' cast is likeable.

That main-character bitch, Sookie, may actually be more annoying than Bella; on the flip side, you’d have to be a faggot to not like Elena.
Same goes for the others: Stefan > Bill > Edward, Damon > Eric > Jacob etc.

Not the plot so much as the way the story is executed.

I’m not, in any seriousness, insulting VD when I say it’s like Twilight. I just find that particular pacing dull and unexciting.

True Blood is wildly different than both stories. As I said earlier, I like the way it uses vampires to point out a lot of social injustices in the Western World.

I like True Blood. Though I have only got to the end of the 1st season due to hbo go problems.

I’m somewhere in the 5th season. I lost track at some point, so I’ll just finish it online sometime.

except the main difference being that unlike Bella who is just some horny teenage girl, sookie is an adult who can read minds and slowly gains more powers throughout the story. In the latest seasons she doesn’t solely have to rely on vampires to save her ass, she’s gained enough control of her powers to be useful in situations. the “boys” who “chase” after Sookie also aren’t some two bit nobodies who comes out of nowhere. We learn that Bill Compton has been tracking Sookie for a while for a reason revealed later in the story. As for Eric.... Eric is a 1000+ year old, 6 foot 4 Viking Vampire Pimp who owns a fucking night club and does shit like this:

now I can’t say that VD is like twilight as I haven’t seen it but Chibi here and you seem to be giving it a decent recommendation at least and you guys were pretty spot on about supernatural so I’ll probably pick it up at some point, possibly over winter break ( or maybe sunday/monday/tuesday coming up since us peeps here in new york are supposedly gonna get hit with a massive storm that is going to make it impossible to leave the house).

I think I saw it on netflix so I’ll give it a shot.

Yeah. Bella was just some girl who got wet over a vampire. There is no “The Salvatore brothers are so hot and gorgeous. Especially that Stefan guy." in VD.

That’s a pretty badass scene. But here is 1000 year old+ Viking Vampire from Vampire Diaries and the guy he kills in this scene is a 500+ year old Vamp if I’m not mistaken.

Basically, Vikings are BA no matter what. lol.

This series actually isn’t that bad.

I stopped at the part where Klaus became a hybrid. Thought about catching up sometime.

I’ve seen season 1 & 2, it’s a pretty legit show. I guess it’s on Season 3 or 4 now? Last I remember was that Elena was going to be used as a sacrifice to break the curse of the sun and moon. I’m not sure if I remember Alaric dying though... Didn’t Elena’s aunt die?

Don’t know if anyone is caught up to current events but I have a feeling that:

That Silas nigga is going to be a vampire warlock harder to kill than Alaric was. Silas, using the power outside of nature powers of normal witches(Thus bypassing the “you can’t be a vamp AND a warlock thing)

Also Kathrine. We need more of her.

Hybrid warlock would be more bad-ass.

It could happen.

Watched the first two seasons a year ago, just finished the third. Have they started the fourth?

Also, Evil Alaric’s theme? Fucking badass, haha!

Side Note: I watched the first ep of True Blood and turned it off in disgust. Lol

Careful! Your backwater opinions might rustle Zack’s jimmies.

And then you’ll be in for a first-class breaking.

Yeah I was thinking that could be the case too. Would be pretty scary. Regardless, from what we are told witches and warlocks are the most powerful supernatural creature bar none. Hybrids, probably being the second. Combining the two together would just be big trouble. Even for the originals

Fine, but stone weapons are banned. Bronze or GTFO.

S-shit. No stone weapons? G-goddamn it, Sheko. I cannot believe I’ll have to waste 37% of the countrie’s GDP in a single bronze armament.
