thread title is pretty self explanatory. this is a thread to discuss all things doctor who related whether it’s discussion over favorite doctors, plot twists, characters, specific episodes, explaining some things, posting theories, helping get fellow members into the show ( whether by recommending specific episodes or something along those lines), assisting members in perhaps looking for specials not available on netflix or something, etc etc.

Watched from Christopher Eccleston to the end of Matt Smith’s 1st season. Quite liked watching it but I don’t ever find the time/motivation to catch up. Favorite aliens so far are the Weeping Angels btw

Season 6 was excellent in my opinion. Mark Sheppard ( the guy who plays Crowley in supernatural) played an excellent role for a few episodes.

I don’t want to spoil too much but it takes a nice look at the doctor and how the beings of the universe view him. we get to see first hand how his actions time and time again have affected the universe. Much more info is revealed about river song ( who becomes a very important and interesting character btw) and the season ends on a pretty cool note IMO ( I didn’t watch the season6 christmas special so I don’t know how to judge it).

It’s worth your viewing time I assure you.

and yes, the weeping angels are pretty cool. one of the more interesting Doctor Who villains because while they haven’t been around ( in terms of doctor who as a series) as long as enemies like the sontarans, cybermen, Daleks, etc etc, they are still very threatening and dangerous and have a nice mysterious yet dangerous aura about them.

probably some season 3/4 clips, which were some of the best seasons IMO.

it’s certainly a series you’ll enjoy if you like sci fi. I can’t recommend watching from Doctor Who Season 1 and forward.

I didn’t see much of this season. stop at episode where they find out. River Song is the Daughter of The Doctor.
The episode where old enemies come to help the Doctor.

a good man goes to war. i think.

the mid-season finale then, “A Good Man goes to War”. you’d be roughly half way through season 6. I think the majority of the first half of season 6 is inevitably better than most of the latter, but it’s still worth watching.if you have netflix season 6 is completely available to watch instantly.

I haven’t seen the newest Matt Smith season (the new Christmas special-onward). I’ve been meaning to get around to it though.

I hated how the weeping angles were shown recently in comparison to their first appearance.

Doctor Who’s one of my favourite shows though.

indeed, their mythos puts them as close to the age of the universe itself, some put them as being even older.

none know how they are born, who created them ( or if not, how did they evolve or simply come to exist), and other such stuff.

I hope Moffat gives us some more insight on them. Daleks are AWESOME and a classic who villain but I feel the need for them to basically be every season’s final villain to be a bit much.

Season 1 of New Who was understandable.
Season 2 had them coming back in the millions and the cybermen wound up taking a backseat.
Season 3 was an exception since The Master was the main villain.
Season 4.........well...... season 4 was basically all about the effects of the reality bomb set off by Davros and his Daleks. tho technically end of time parts 1 and 2 did feature the master and rassilon as antagonists.
season 5 was nice since it was a gangbang of villains.
season 6 was the most original since it finally had an entirely new enemy to deal with.
