When taking into account that members on this site made threads for almost all tv shows of marvel/dc superheroes, it amazes me that a thread wasn’t made for Gotham.

This show is by far superior to any other superhero t.v. show, but highly underrated here.

I just finished watching season one on Netflix and I have to say that it was much more than a regular superhero show.

The story is great;the characters are intriguing; character development is great; it has a few mini stories which focus on other characters, which are done very well; the uncovering of future villains is unmatched; the hype is real.

Gotham takes place in Gotham city (blue is blue, hehe) a city full of corruption and crime where no good people live...or so we think. Gotham takes place when Bruce Wayne is still only a kid, his parents have just been murdered and the main character is introduced: James Gordon.
Gordon is a detective with high aspirations , an unbreakable will, solid principles, and balls of steel. Gordon is willing to do what’s right even at the cost of his life or his loved ones. His conviction for good is so strong that he will make pacts with Gotham’s number one cunning and dangerous snitch: Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. Gordon slowly starts to turn into something he doesn’t want to, basically into what his partner turned into: a cop that cuts corners to get what he needs by breaking laws. He suddenly realizes what he’s becoming but we’ll he stop before it’s too late?

I can go on but it would take me all day. Feel free to discuss season one and make predictions about season two.

Maybe there is a small hint of “cheese” at the beginning, but it’s not a cheesy show at all.

Wow,season 2 is out already. I saw episode 1 and it was hot fire. This Joker is probably going to be better than the Joker from The Death Squad.

It only took Netflix 8 months to get season 2 of Gotham. What took them so long? '

Anyways, I’m almost done with season 2. It was pretty good, but it’s not as good as season 1 in my opinion. Many of the good characters were cut out (the fight for Gotham was trashed and it was concentrated in finding Bruce’s parents murderer).

Almost right off the bat they go and kill the Joker. But maybe he’ll be brought back to life like they did with other characters.

Anyway, I’ll see what happens in the finally and I will give my opinion of the season 2 as a whole then.

Overall it was a good season, not as good as the first but still decent. They moved away from the crime bosses/ mafia and are now moving on to the monster part of Batman.

The ending scene was a WTF moment, nice little hype for next season.

Well, hopefully next season will have things more fleshed out and we can now get to the main plate.
