All religions are peaceful.
It is their followers who can be violent.

Christianity is the most peaceful religion. Evil men doing evil in the name of Christianity doesn’t make the religion evil.

Let’s do some crusading ;D

I’m not sure you know what the crusades really were. While they were certainly sanctioned as a holy war by the pope but historians are still out on the exact reasoning behind the crusades. One thing is for sure, the crusaders were not some super invincible army who cut down everyone in their path and while there were millions of deaths during the crusades it happened over many years(Something like 200 years traditionally). It’s also unclear if they were just counting those the crusaders killed or the crusaders themselves as well, I’ve seen places count disease related deaths to it. There was a pretty large us and them mentality. I’d guess that it had more to do with being afraid Islam was going to take over than “Let’s go be dicks and kill people for believing differently than us.", while there was certainly things like witch burning and such, at the time Islam was perceived as a HUGE enemy.

Now I’m not saying the crusades were right, but it is hardly a black and white issue. There were religiopolitical reasons for them. And while there certainly were slaughters, that hardly indicates anything about Christianity as a whole. Not to mention the Pope does not speak for every Christian or even every denomination of Christianity. Now there are other bloody conflicts between Christians over history(Even some going on now) but that doesn’t mean Christianity isn’t a peaceful religion. It would be like bringing up Stalin who set up an atheistic state and because he killed millions(In a much shorter period and probably more than the crusades did btw) that atheists are not peaceful. It doesn’t work that way.

lmao Buddhism is a religion. A religion does not need a deity figure for it be a religion. For example, Confucianism is considered a religion even though it is essentially a philosophy. In this case, Buddhism originated from North India and diffused to China where it merged with Confucianism to form Neo Confucianism over time - which is still a religion.

Buddhism isn’t the most peaceful. It’s teachings espouse personal development of greater moral and mental standing, but it has been used as a political tool in China during the Post Classical Era. Specifically the Tang dynasty and early parts of the Song. Political tension over Buddhism caused social class inequalities as well as small scale conflicts.

I would put Jainism as one of the most peaceful religions as well as Sikhism.
