There’s been a tear in the universe. . . the Omegaverse has poured into this tear with a strange portal. A malignant, green vortex of energy that slowly deviates the order and integrity that holds up the universe around it. Powerful, high ranking beings called Incarnae, that are Ni-Omniscient creatures, have no idea how these portals can exist in the universe, and some of these powerful creatures, some greater than gods, have begun dying from the Vortex.

This is where the Primary Egoes, the protagonists of the story comes in. They are far less powerful than the Incarnae, but they are powerful enough that they can investigate the portals for the Incarnae without risk of being overcome by it’s overwhelming alien nature. The Portal occasionally leaks out beings and creatures of a supernatural nature, but these have never been able to be tracked.

Primary Ego
Jacob Dennis Armitage

Souls:

Sarthaal, the Chaos Serpent Pretender god (Dominions 4)

Emperor Mateus Palamecia
(Final Fantasy II)

Data
(Star Trek Franchise)

Brian The Templar
(Hero’s Realm)

Raistlin Majere
(Dragon Lance)

An English Major, very creative story teller and somewhat good writer, but also a well known analytical thinker and philosopher, was a failure at mathematics, and was a little flimsy with Science, although not stupid. Although he faced Academic problems, all of them stemmed from his lack of health. He had a very intelligent nature, although his brain power suffered from a lack of sleep, he still could occasionally impress just a little with his analysis of certain subjects. He suffered from a problem of short breathing, somewhat poor eyesight, mildly bad hearing, but also chronic overweight, and an inability to muster very much of a physical drive to excersize, a nervous disorder that made his ability to focus very unpredictable, and nasal cavities that were sometimes blocked so badly that it would take a maintenance crew to dig out both of his nasal passages so he could breath out of them.

He needed to turn his life around but it was hard to think of any way he could do it. A promise to provide him with life changing medical assistance would go along way towards forcing him to attend this place.

Primary Ego
Kaylia Marinway

Souls
Yukari (Touhou) - Barrier and portal creation
Dark Samus (Metroid) - Energy generation and control
Vergil Sparda (Devil May Cry) - Yamato and phantom swords
Hazama (Blazblue) - Geminus Angium: Ourobors
The Master (Doctor Who) - Intellect and cunning

A neatly styled and dressed university graduate in the field of mathematics, Kaylia has been able to stun most with her cold analytical prowess hidden behind a largely quiet visage. Her mind has shown sharpness capable of cutting swaths through some of the most potent arguments in various subjects, making her particularly adept at science, philosophy, and—naturally—mathematics. This calculating aspect of her personality is not whole, as she holds a strong compassion for her fellow earth-dwellers. The state of affairs humanity’s actions have generated, however, have caused her to hold great concern over the planet’s future. These issues, coupled with what she views as meaningless interference of political agendas, have led her to a simple solution: relinquish humanity of its responsibilities and act as the organizing force toward a brighter future. However, the issue of the vortex that threaten to tear asunder the very fabric of reality have taken a higher priority than the rather trivial problems humanity has created for itself.

Primary ego:
Jack Noir

Souls:
Jack Noir (Homestuck) - Badass
Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls) - Reality warping, evil
Problem Sleuth (Problem Sleuth) - Heroism
Marisa Kirisame (Touhou) - Magic bullets, master spark, spontaneity
Michael (Grand Theft Auto) - Psychotic aggression

Jack Noir is the *not* very proud archagent of a malign monarchy. He has nothing to boast for, save the great times he shared with his crew while serving. He sits in jail years later, with nothing to live for but these memories. He still doesn’t know how or why it happened. The last thing he could recall was in his office, doing paperwork. He must have passed out that evening. The dignitary put his coffee on the desk, but he was too tired to bother with it. The courtyard droll was going on about his time at the gay bar or something. The brute was polishing his medieval weapons collection. It was like any other stupid, normal evening. Then everything went... Black. He woke up from the craziest nightmare, and his comrades were all dead. His hands were soaked in their blood. Well, the dignitary always told him he would go nuts, but he never thought he’d go that nuts. He was taken to prison, never saw the light of day again. The only ones he knows now are the voices in his head. Five of them. The same ones he heard before he blacked out that night. He didn’t remember what they said, but it doesn’t matter.

A spastic little girl.
A strange demon.
A hard boiled hero.
A proud killer.
And a smart, yet, very sexy man.

He would try to come to grips with the situation, but for now, the only thing that mattered was the food being slid under his door.

Primary Ego:
Carmen DeRosso

Souls:
http://wiki.evageeks.org/Kaworu_Nagisa#BattleKaworu (Evangelion) - AT Field, Levitation, Angel biology
http://marvel.wikia.com/Loki_Laufeyson_%28Earth-616%29Loki Laufeyson
Lancelot
Hakumen
Yvetal

Carmen is a boy who must’ve had asses as parents to give him such a feminine name. Despite that name, he has quite the intimidating look, with black and red bangs to his hair combined with the crimson pupils for eyes. Behavior-wise, he’s very serious about his work and holds a high sense of pride, although he’s prone to going to town on someone who’s injured his ego. His figure is lean, but by no means suggests weakness. He currently works as a weaponsmith for the army, building various firearms for them. That was when he was summoned by the (x), and had the souls inside him awaken.

So do they just get all the abilities of the souls, or can borrow abilities? What are the mechanics behind that? And should we be PMing you character profiles so you can add them to the first post? And what limits do we have on the souls, either in number or in power (Etc.)?

You have a limit of Five Souls per character in the start.
As for powers, shape changing powers are restricted to GM discretion, and no one can be a casual planet destroyer, you can’t just nullify someone’s powers, steal them, etcetera. As for your appearance you can change it based on which characters you’ve chosen.

Also,if you have more than one person in a franchis, they cannot have been alive at the same time. grin

Also, people like Data, or machines are fine, even if they would normally not have a soul.

Fine, but I still have Jack and Bill. (btw just Jack without his dog powers. That would make Bill’s power more relevant.) Hm, who are some more good villains who aren’t totally dank...

Almost any franchise. Try not to do something to absurd. grin

Carebears, like, things like that, don’t do that.

So, uh, where do we put the summary, and how do we get these five starting souls? Were e born with them? I’m not sure how to write the history. Is it the Primary Ego’s history?

Primary Egoes are the characters we are. The Souls or Personae, as they are called. . . are all inside us (All five at least), but they aren’t woken up until the start of the game.

So it’s more like the Incarnae unlock the souls, and the protagonists are chosen for having these particular souls and the capability to withstand the vortex (likely due to the souls in some way or another)?

Alright, so if I was, say, Kaworu Nagisa, I would have Kaworu’s history and stuff in the character summary?

Also, if I inherit something like Imperialdramon’s Positron Cannon, which is used (in Fighter Mode at least) for both Positron Laser and Giga Crusher, would I get both skills from the one weapon or both skills?

Incarnae are the Souls.

Primary Egoes are our characters.

So, what we do is make a history of just our normal modern day selves. grin
