This could potentially work but it builds emphasis on the campaign acting more like a full game of magic, which would emphasize on aggro-based setups whereas slower more controlling or more powerful setups would shine later on and the aggro setups would likely want to switch over.

It’d be the same either way, I think. But having people start out more limited and growing into more unique styles might benefit people who aren’t so used to the game.

I suppose, but I don’t want aggro to necessarily beat control or control to necessarily beat aggro. Having a constant source of mana which is ever growing will grow into that eventually, mana pools for each fight would not.

I can’t see why it’d be hard when you look at Elspeth and Ajani’s journeys through Theros. Elspeth wielded Godsend, a gift from Heliod himself, so Therosian (yes, that’s what I’m calling it) spells could easily have been picked up. And yes, but any spells you learn you will need to track yourself and once you know a spell you can place up to four copies of it into your spellbook.

No, I meant it’d be hard to find spells that aren’t native to the plane, because information on them would be sparse.

I think I get what you mean. No, you’re not going to learn something from Zendikar on Theros and yes you can learn any spell from the Theros block while on the plane of Theros, but some of them will be very difficult to learn.

Morbid, intimidate and landfall I’ve no idea how I’ll make work. Vigilance could imply a greater speed to allow for striking and still enable a creature to defend their planeswalker. Deathtouch could be treated as a glass-cannon against other creatures, kind of as it is. Metalcraft affects artifacts and its not impossible for someone to get a collection of artifacts.

That all sounds about right, although vigilance sounds a bit too close to first strike. Maybe they’re just well-trained to the point that they don’t overextend and don’t put themselves in a position that they can’t block...

That’s kind of what I mean’t. I guess speed wasn’t the best way to describe it.

Yeah Flavor can be used to fill most holes in Roleplay.
