Shortly after she had written her letter into the paper (and dissipated the metaphysical pen she had used to write it in the first place), Tara simply vanished in a brilliant but brief white light.

---

Her placement in the middle of the spacious, white-walled room was less than ideal. A variety of by-her-estimates well over a few dozen people of all walks of life already surrounded her. Most conversed; some stretched; others looked about nervously at what was likely to become a giant mosh pit. Dearly, she hoped that they further segregated the two-thousand-some-odd people further than just the twenty-six letters of the alphabet: even with such a sizable room, that set somewhere nearing one hundred people stuffed into a combat area.

A quick glance over to the corner with her brilliant blue eyes caused her to disappear from her former position and reappear facing the corner. A few decent-sized steps of her five-foot ten-inch frame set her away from the corner before she leaned against the wall. Eight points of potential impact: corners and the face of each wall. Being close to the corner yet not within it provided the most inconspicuous position possible in such a plain room. Nothing guaranteed, of course, but enough for her to keep out of most harm’s way.

And there she waited for that bell to ring. It was about to get very noisy and very violent.

“Wonder why they’re doing it this way anyway,“ Ty wondered within her head, and she shook her chestnut locks lightly in similar disbelief. I mean, really: in the real world, a mosh pit is probably going to procure injuries, and—dream world or no—people would be worn out and partially traumatized. That’d put everyone at less than 100%, and if this was planned to be a stylish show with everyone in tip-top condition, they had some severe oversights.

Mike vanished as well, finding himself in a room full of people he didn’t know. He looked around the room happily. “Well, looks like I’ve got a lot of competition, don’t I."

Some of the people looked pissed off, and some of them were as excited as he was. Apparently unarmed, Mike examined the various weapons of everyone around him. He could only wait for the time to start.

Mike put his hands in his pirate coat’s pockets and waited, smiling.

Reappearing in the next area, Alexander glanced, attempting to scale up his opposition before casually strolling to a nearby corner, hoping to find that the rest of the combatants would be too interested in each other to worry about him.
Haughty as ever, he 'wasted' no time examining the condition of his opponents, instead choosing to alter his appearance to a more natural state. His impeccable white suit was in an instant changed to an off looking, off putting black and white pinstriped design. His general complexion seemed to pale with every passing moment, the only aspect of his form that appeared to retain any colour at all was the ever darkened hair and his unnaturally wide, crimson grin. With a half-hearted gesture he produced a simple cane from his hand, leaned against it and glanced around the arena, grinding his teeth with anticipation.

Rei also disappeared from his area, being unceremoniously dropped into the Z room.Rei rubbed his tushie after standing up, then looked around his area and saw that most of the people who picked his letter were muscular, dumb, brutes. Rei sighed, making his way over a corner so the roughhousing idiots didn’t squash him.

Elliot saw that the character he had written down simul,y changed into a proper E, though in a different writing style. In a flash of light he was transported into a room with others who had chosen his letter.

There was not a ton of them, but those that were there were already running around. They were either goofing off, rough housing, or trying to make alliances. Elliot made an o with his right hand and brought it up to his eyes. Scan .The space in between glowed green and he could see the relative amount of power the people held. Scan is able to tell you that but not if the people are in your strength range or higher. He needed to level that skill up more. He could read the strength of everyone in his room, though so Elliot pulled out his video game and began to play it again. His full attention was wasted on such people.

He looked up for a moment and noticed that a lot of the people in his room had a similar mark on their clothing. He could have sworn that he had seen that symbol before. Then he remembered, those guys that tried to jump him, they had that on them. Well before he killed them of course.

He noticed they saw him and were murmuring to each other. Guess they were going to aim for him all together. Elliot smiled, well if you kill multiple enemies at a time, you get more experience, bring it.

Ace laughed as the fight ensued and energy surrounded him anything watching a foots range incinerated. “What is the point of wasting my time"muttered Ace. He let the energy around him grow until an explosion happened. Ace sighed after seeing everyone scattered around on the ground after the announcer announced his win in room b he appeared in the main lobby and smiled when he found out he was the first to win and get here. “Guess I am suppose to wait.“said Ace with a smirk

Rei made quick work of most of the thugs that were in his letter group, usually climbing up onto a pillar and pulling out the Vorpal Sword from his mind, then atomically restructuring it to be an arrow. It would still have it’s same abilities, as Rei hit the mark time and time again with the Vorpal Arrow, as he dubbed it, striking them in the neck with it and instantly downing his opponent.

Alexander tapped a portion of his cane, and in an instant the concealed weapon contained within was readied, a rifle like mechanism.
He began to fire on random targets erratically, not even bothering with the triviality of ammunition in the dreamscape, laughing the whole time.

At her post by the corner, Tara whistled sharply. Most looked towards her then, seeing little of interest as she remained leaning against the wall, immediately looked away to continue their usual preparations. Six or so keen males nearby, however, slipped from the crowd to join her side: they sensed the random whistle was not wholly random.

“Wanna walk out of here instead of crawl?“ she asked with a hefty nod toward the main group. Five of the six briefly turned their heads around to catch a glimpse before returning their attention to the female. Apparently, they seemed keen on her proposal, even before she had laid a plan, considering their odds with the alternative. “Who can make a shield big enough for us?“

Two of the six raised their hands, but the other four hesitated. One—dark haired, tall, handsome, with the muscular appearance of a brute but the apparent intellect of a tactician that easily caught Tara’s interest—spoke up. “How are we gonna defend against all that?" he asked with a tilt of his head over his shoulder. The two who had raised their hands slowly dropped them before the female had the opportunity to answer.

“We don’t have to. They’ll be too focused on one another to bother with our small collage.“

“Pfft, yeah if we’re lucky," he retorted. Tara let out a slow sigh. They were intelligent enough: she didn’t have to tell them the obvious, just what her plan was. They could figure the rest.

“All right. We have you four,“ she said, waving a slender finger in the general direction of the four men who had yet to raise their hands, “Block as much as possible with smaller barriers, like a game of pong. You two,“ she said, referencing the two remainders, “Will be our contingency. We’re in the most optimal spot out of the way of any other conflicts, so make those contingent shields as small and focused as possible.“ A brief paused followed as the sextuplet processed her plan and, slowly, a chorus of nods came from five.

“And you?" the last one—the skeptic she found ridiculously attractive—asked. She smiled coyly and let her arms uncross from her chest. Her right arm rose as a black, circular portal appeared in front of her, accompanied by a second portal in front of him. She simply reached through the gateway, her digits appearing in the second opening to trace along the man’s bare chest with a teasing finger-walk.

“I’ll be the front defence, firing back what they throw at us.“ She withdrew her hand as the man’s face flushed a slight tint of red. Tara looked up at her with a light tilt of her head and a sly but inviting smile. “Sound like a plan?“

Whether it was her temptation or the plan actually making more sense at that introduction, he nodded in agreement.

---

In short order, the six of them—along with another five—appeared. Yet, while the five brutes limped about in weariness of the long-fought battle, the six cheered and high-fived energetically, as though they hadn’t even been in the brawl. Truthfully, they hadn’t so much as caught and returned a few energetic waves of shrapnel and, as the numbers dwindled, they had begun striking conversation. Andrew was tall-dark-and-handsome’s name. Mike, Kyle, Dino, Jason, and Nelson were the other five. As they hugged all manly-like, she simply leaned against another wall, awaiting the next set of instructions.

These, after all, were mere preliminaries.

Ten of his opponents still remained, entering one at a time. This one was a hulking giant of a man that carried a massive sword. Rei grimaced as the Vorpal Blade was unable to pierce his skin. Rei swore as he failed to get out of the way quickly enough and the giant grabbed his leg and threw him aside. Rei scrambled through his mind, materializing an arrow and manipulated the dirt beneath him into a rope, tied the rope to the arrow and fired it into the wall opposite him. The rope became tight and paused his momentum, landing him safely on the ground. The sickly archer swore as the giant was already nearly upon him, leading him to barely have enough time to roll out of the way.

Reclaiming what's lost

Before the fight had started, Khema had enough time to construct two hundred-something compact bullets for anyone brash enough to directly challenge either him or Emma, who he was standing protectively near. He gauged the room around him, trying to assess the biggest threat. Over here there was a likely candidate for a sniper-type, that guy over there looked like he had a nice crowd-control stick he was waving about. He decided that, of the people he could see, there weren’t any serious threats, but who knew what else was hiding in the crowd. It wasn’t too dense (he would have hated to see how many people were in the T room), but it still made him feel uneasy. There was no more than a murmur of speech coming from anybody, which made it seem even worse. A ripple of sound came from somewhere around the other side, and people carried it throughout the room, and all of a sudden everybody was talking over this new revelation.

“If none of us decide to fight, we’ll all automatically advance!" Said a guy to Khema’s left, laughing at how obvious a loophole it was, once the concept was introduced. Khema’s mouth opened in surprise, because the rules really did say nothing about not fighting. He passed the news onto Emma, then continued looking through the room.

The signal to start rang through the room, but nobody made a move. Tense seconds rolled by all to slowly.

“FUCK THIS!" Someone yelled, off to Khema’s side. A bright flash of red energy also came from the source, knocking dozens of fighters around when they were least expecting it. From all around him, he was getting beaten by the vengeful mob.

“You dick, what’re you plannning? We could all get by without anyone doing anything!"

Khema shook his head and made the pistol gesture with both his hands. He aimed his finger-guns on either side of the guy who fired the first shot, and downed two of his assailants.

“What fun is sitting around for five minutes?" Khema wondered aloud. “I suggest a truce for the ten strongest people in here. The rest of you can get out of my tournament."

His preconstructed bullets came into existence, forming a string sticking out of his forearms. He fired randomly into the crowd a few times, each shot taking a link out of the belt. By that time the people around him decided to get off their asses and try taking him down, but he predicted some kind of frontal attack. He jumped backwards, out of the way of their most probable attack (which was a melee stab, which would take less time than any other type of attack, therefore stopping his assault earlier). He paid his attackers back with a single bullet to both their heads.

The guy that he helped ran towards him, jumped over him, divekicked a guy who summoned a polearm to attack Khema. Okay, he had one ally in this, and other fights were breaking out elsewhere. There were no safe places for anyone, so everyone relied either on turtling out of it with their best shielding, or attacking back as quickly as they could.

Emma stared off into space, waiting for somebody to make the next move. She heard Khema whisper to her that people were going to simply wait until the time runs out so everyone could advance. She gave a sigh in disappointment. Firstly, because waiting in a room all day seemed boring to her and secondly, if they let this many people in the actual tournament, it would take forever to complete, and it’d be a while before she fought anybody interesting.

Suddenly, she heard someone yell “Fuck this shit!" and bodies began to fly. Just like that, an all out brawl begun. Emma giggled in excitement as hundreds of black water droplets formed around her, and combined into a black blob. She patted it on the head, and it’s gelatinous form jiggled. She pointed at a group of ten contestants that were brawling and just like that, the monster lunged at them. A clawed appendage sprouted from its body as it slashed a male who had it’s back turned, bifurcating him. The other nine jumped in suprise as one of them shot lightning from his fingertips at the beast. Its form shifted and dodged the attack, the lightning striking and electrocuting some unfortunate bystander. Before the man could prepare, the blob lunged at him, sucking his body inside of it’s form. Muffled screams could be heard from him as his willpower was siphoned from him until he was completely dry, and his form dissapeared.

The willpower was transferred to Emma who upon receiving the power, began to float in the air. As the other eight tried to flee, one of them was absorbed by the monster as it clawed another’s head off. Yet, more willpower for Emma as she floated higher and began strumming on her guitar. She played a tune as the blob grew bigger and eventually it’s range increased aswell, allowing it to grab and suck dry two more of them. The other four couldnt get away, and were unceremoniously hacked to bits. The remaining 50 or so people noticed the music coming from her, and turned thier heads. They looked in horror at the growing blob and realized what had happened. In one fell swoop, she killed eleven contestants.
They all began aiming thier attacks at the female.
Khema, cover me!

Anne who was hiding out in a corner decided to make her move after all if so many people made it past the preliminaries it would be no fun. Anne threw multiple needles at some guy attacking the one called Khema. Her eyes turned dark red and dark energy ensued multiple people around her literate sucking their souls out. Dark spirits surrounded the seven year old girl and then other contestants stared at her with horror. “What the who do you think you are?“yelled Anne as someone grabbed her neck with a chain to try tonwalk her to death. Anne was able to snap the thing in half and broke the guy’s arm. She was pissed as a dozen others still remained. As multiple people aimed their fire at Emma Anne decided to create a fort fuel to protect her. Anne let the spirits under her command take out half the idiots remaining. Anne looked around and saw Emma, Khema and about four other guys remaining

Before long, Rei finally killed the giant of a man with a well aimed blast from a arrow-from-Hrunting, creating a thunderous explosion in the arena, covering it in smoke from the debris tossed about from the impact. With an exhausted sigh exited his lips, only to see another boy that caught his interest. A beast tamer? The male was fighting with a large dragon by his side. Rei wondered how he had not noticed it before. The teen was probably hidden in all the brutes. He jumped down from his perch and snuck past the dragon to discuss an alliance with the beast tamer, named Tatsuya. The other male agreed, and together, they both finished off the rest of their block together, leading them both to be teleported into the lobby.

[[ Jase, firstly, you’re not the dungeon master, Hiro is. So he should be making announcements. Secondly, has Ace even heard Khema and Emma’s names? Consider how incongruous it is for someone to suddenly know another’s name with no explanation. ]]

Alexander was at this stage simply massacring his opposition. Where as his opponents were fond of energy beams, physical talents and other such flashy abilities, he had made the approach of simply shooting as many of them as he could before they could retaliate with their abilities. Pragmatic, but all in all very effective.

Rei and Tatsuya were chatting up a good time, discussing plans for future things. Both agreed that they’d find gentle ways to knock eachother out if they fight, Rei with an arrow laced with tranquilizers, Tatsuya agreed to his dragon’s breath having both sleep-inducing and, were this real life, poison inducing. Rei smiled, looking up at the dragon’s form. It seemed to have way too small of wings to fly, and looked like it was built for hunting in forests.
