Hard rock is a variation of rock and roll music which has its earliest roots in mid-1960s garage and psychedelic rock. It is typified by a heavy use of distorted electric guitars, bass guitar and drums. The term “hard rock” is often used as an umbrella term for genres such as Grunge or metal and in order to distinguish them from the more radio-friendly pop rock genre.

WTF

IDK Led does not belong on this list.

Forienger!!!!!!!!11111!!!!1!1!11!!1one1!!1!!!

Bands like AC/DC wouldn’t be around without good ole Zeppelin.

Zeppelin pretty much founded heavy metal. Black Sabbath followed, and then it grew from there.

AC/DC is freakin awesome though.

Yeah, I listen to the classic metal, like some of the stuff that you like. And I listen to alot of Black, Death, Doom, Power, and Thrash metal.

Pretty much a little bit of everything exept New and Core metal bullshit.

And a little bit of oldschool punk, like The Ramones.
(one of James Hetfields favorite bands back in the day)

Why Guns N Roses would be at the top is beyond me, and why Smells Like Teen Spirit is the Nirvana song they used is to(This coming from a guy who is a rabid Nirvana fan and visited Cobain’s house and hometown a couple weeks ago)

I laughed when they put Quiet Riot as dead last. They would be higher on my list. I don’t think Nirvana is that good either. I try listening to their songs, but they just ain’t my style.

I sort of liked VH1’s top hip hop list, but there was a lot of songs that was better than most of the one’s they showed.

If they wanted to put a Nirvana song there, they could have put In Bloom, it’s way better than smells like teen spirit.

Nirvana is not for everyone. Music taste is different for different people. It’s just that Welcome to the Jungle is just...idk...It’s just not the best rock song to me. It would be hard for me to really rank. But Guns N' Roses would not be number 1 for sure.

I think Welcome to the Jungle is a great song. However, its not my number one either.
