Killy is a man of few words. He wanders, seemingly endlessly, through a lonely, gargantuan labyrinth of concrete and steel, fighting off cyborgs and other futuristic nightmares, searching only for something called Net Terminal Genes. And he has a very powerful gun, which he uses without hesitation whenever anything resembling danger rears its ugly head.
Who is this quiet, violent, determined man and what are these Genes he seeks? The small communities he finds tucked into the crevices of this towering, dystopic ruin hardly give him leads on his treasure, driving him to find larger enclaves of civilization where people can reveal more about the world he lives in and the quarry he seeks.

The backgrounds in this manga is amazing

The manga is very unique the art gives it a very black and white feel. I’m at volume 2 and I’m very impress with the background and how it changes as he goes on his journey.

Nihei’s a beast, ya’ll should try Biomega, plus Blame has lots and lots of side story’s and oneshots

Nihei has quite a large volume of works out.

Got done reading Blame I got to say this manga is something I don’t quite see often. The main protagonist is a loner he doesn’t really seem to interact with people beyond his usual trying to find a way to complete his main objective. He endlessly seeks the Net Terminal Gene with no doubts or questions. Killy meets people along the way mostly short lived and doesn’t express any deep thoughts about what happens to them or their surroundings. It can be a little difficult at first to grip the ambiguous plot but once you start paying more attention carefully you will begin to understand and interpret its meaning. The manga lacks depth in its character and not a whole lot of dialogue because it heavily relies on illustration. At the end the world of Blame is as mysterious as ever.

You’ll find that that’s kinda Nihei’s style, he really doesn’t like to use dialogue much.

It’s exactly as you say, it leaves a very mysterious vibe surrounding his work.

His way of storytelling is definitely something you don’t see as often. You don’t truly get a sense of what really goes on because Killy is constantly going from place to place never looking back. It makes him a mysterious character throughout the manga because he has only one goal and never takes the time to think about anything else beside it.

Blame is a manga where you have to pay close attention to understand the story if you don’t you might get lost while reading.

I just finished the last volume today and wished that it went further in seeing what happen to Killy and the events that followed hopefully the sequel will shed some light.

There’s not much story to read though
